In Hamlet and The Lion King there were many similarities. The main characters are sons of the rulers with uncles that want to rule the kingdom, both rulers were murdered, both sons left and then came back to do the right thing. The differences in Hamlet and The Lion King are that simba’s mother never remarried like Gertrude does in Hamlet, one is about people, the other is a children’s animated movie, Scar gets killed by his own people at the end, Claudius gets killed by hamlet and then Hamlet dies too when Simba lives to rule his kingdom.
One thing that surprised me is that The Lion King is very similar to Hamlet. After reading Hamlet and then watching The Lion King you see many similarities. Hamlet is dark and The Lion King is a better version made for children. I never realized these connections in Hamlet and The Lion King before.
