Some things in Brave New World that I learned is how society is portrayed in the novel. People in the society of Brave New World are born from test tubes in a lab and are conditioned to follow standards to which they were created. People are also always happy. There are no emotions in society, people are not allowed to love another or mourn one’s death. It makes me happy that our society is not like that and we are not controlled like that, we get to have our own thoughts.
One of the themes of Brave New World is the battle between truth and happiness. Society is built on happiness, there is no sadness or pain in the world, because of the help of soma. This leads me to how am I going to make sure that I constantly question the world around me. I will always stick to my own opinions and feelings. I won’t let something affect me the way people are affected in the book.
I will always focus on the good morals in life and always try to make my own life better. For example I will never let someone or social media change my views on religion, political views, or how I feel about myself. I do not believe there are many sources to trust on the internet. I trust my family and the friends around me.
